What is chainlink (link)?

What Is Chainlink? Chainlink (LINK) is a cryptocurrency and technology platform that enables non-blockchain enterprises to securely connect with blockchain platforms.

What happened to chainlink?

2017: Chainlink raised $32 million during its ICO, with 1billion LINK tokens in circulation. 2018: Chainlink acquired Town crier, an authenticated data feed for smart contracts. 2019: Chainlink launched its platform on Ethereum ’s mainnet.

Who can sell data to chainlink?

Both independent developers and large companies can sell data as node operators to the Chainlink network and be paid LINK tokens in the process. Two of the key objectives to ensure security on the Chainlink network are distribution of data sources and distribution of oracles.

What is a link token?

It allows the tokens to be processed and received by smart contracts within a single transaction. The LINK token is used in the Chainlink network to compensate Chainlink Node operators for the retrieval of data from the external data sources, turning it to blockchain readable format, off-chain computation, and uptime guarantees.
